Section of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE) UTM Kuala Lumpur

ADVISORY

  • Provide advisory services to the UTM community on matters related to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
  • Recommend improvement actions through Event Safety Checklist (ESC) and Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) for risky activities.

PROMOTION

  • Provide encouragement on the importance of a safe work culture at the workplace.
  • Conduct training and awareness campaigns on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
  • Dissemination of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) information and Safe Operating Procedure.

INVESTIGATION

  • Investigate incidents related to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).

MONITORING

  • Monitor programs organized by students and staff (program safety management aspect).
  • Monitor Scheduled Waste (Chemical) and Biological Waste disposal activities.
  • Monitor the condition of the UTM Kuala Lumpur campus environment and identify hazards.
  • Manage radiation protection matters.

INSPECTION

  • Inspection of the machinery safety level and the status of Machinery Certificate of Fitness (PMA, PMT and PMD).
  • Inspection of contractor’s work activities and evaluation of contractor’s level of compliance to the regulations related to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) enforced by the University.
  • Conduct Occupational Safety and Health Audit (OSH) every year.
