Bunus Fun Walk for River (BFW4R) 2019
Every year, EcoKnights in collaboration with the Local Agenda 21 and DBKL (under the Sungai Bunus Action Group) will celebrate the World Rivers Day by organizing the Bunus Fun Walk for River (BFW4R) 2019. This is one of the initiatives under the River of Life; Sungai Bunus Restoration Project to raise public awareness on river conservation.
On its second consecutive year, the BFW4R offers fun activities for everyone from all walks of life to enjoy! This fun walk is part of the fundraising program to support the beautification of the Sungai Bunus and its vicinity.
All funds collected through this fun walk will be given to the restoration efforts of the Sungai Bunus, as our main goals are:
1. To support the community efforts in safeguarding the Sungai Bunus
2. To develop a circular-loop jogging cum cycling track around the retention pond, and provide a recreational park for public enjoyment
As one of the action group, UTM also don’t want to left behind to actively support this agenda. About 150 staffs and students were participated and many activities have been organised(in collaboration with Bernama) to support this event such as :
-Water Education Programme
-Tree Planting campaign
-Fund-raising activity
-Water Quality Assessment
-Mobile Water Treatment Exhibition
-Colouring contest
-Book Review activity
UTM will continuously contribute in ensuring a better and more sustainable future for all especially the young generations.
